This is my final video from Iraq. I’ve had the time of my life traveling through this country and I hope you’ve enjoyed my stories here over the last 9 weeks. On my final day in Iraq, I met up with my long time Iraqi friend, Baderkhan, who you might know well from the many videos we shot together in Iraqi Kurdistan. We hit the streets of Baghdad (his hometown), and tried all of the best street food that the city has to offer! We were able to eat 5 dishes for just $15USD total, now that’s a bargain! Little did we know how scary this video would be to shoot — I left my passport in my hotel room (which is a BIG no-no in Iraq), so we tried to dodge the police the entire day. If you can remember last week, I was thrown into a police station in the marshlands for using my GoPro… Find out if we made it to the end without any police encounters! Also – it’s with a heavy heart to explain that 24 hours after we shot this video, there was massive attack in the exact same market, on the exact same street, during the exact same time of the day. I was devastated to hear the news, and I couldn’t believe our luck – we escaped it by just 24 hours. My deepest condolences go out to all of the loved ones that were lost in this horrible act, and I hope the city will return back to its glory days.
